Mungaru Male - Araluthiru Jeevada Geleya

It has been a while since I recorded. This song is very special to me, from the Kannada movie - Mungaaru Male (meaning monsoon rain). The film is mostly shot in the rainy season in my state - Karnataka - in the beautiful and stunning Malnad area. The film rocks because of the fantastic scenery and locations they have included.

Another special feature of the movie is its songs. NRI composer Mano Murthy has created magical music for the film which has become the toast for everyone. The songs are simply superb, simple tunes with effective melody.

The song is originally sung by Shreya Goshal, I really applaud her Kannada accent.

Also, Vidyu, who is a popular name in the blogging world, had given an excellent rendition for this song on her music blog: http://vidyus-music.blogspot.com/ . Thanks Vidyu for sharing the track with me :-)

My attempt to try this song. Do give me your feeback :-)

Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam & Nazrein Milana

Wish you all a Very Happy New Year!

I am presenting two completely different songs on my blog, one with all the fun and the other one - a serious, emotional song.

(1) Nazrein Milana Nazrein Churana - I absolutely feel like dancing when I listen to this song. This song from the movie "Jaane Tu Ya Jane Na", and A.R. Rehman as the music director, has a wonderful urban touch, and has around 5 voices. Real fun song to sing, and enjoyed every bit while recording.

(2) Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam - Ismail Darbar, the music director, is simply outstanding in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. This song has the music that is rich and exquisite for a Hindi film. Needless to say, Kavita Krishnamurthy's singing, that stirred all our souls. Her voice just melts with the music and she won many awards for this song.

I have tried my best to get the feelings and expressions right for both the songs, keeping in mind the picturization of the songs. Please give me your feedback!

Jiya Jale Jaan Jale

I am posting a recently recorded song by me "Jiya Jale Jaan Jale" from the movie "Dil Se". This song was originally sung by Lata Mangeshkar, and somehow feels, this song is just made for her. Lata Ji sung this song during her 70+ age, as a background vocal of Preity Zinta, voice suits Preity much better than her own voice :-) This song has a superb South Indian Classical touch to it, and the Malayalam chorus in between keeps lingering...

Please hear to my attempt and let me know how my rendition at this number sounds.

Ek Pal Ke Liye - Ankahee

Ek Pal Ke Liye - Has been one of my favourite songs. Original sung by Shreya Goshal, I can never can get bored of this song. This is from the movie Ankahee, there are variants of this sung by Sonu Nigam, Shreya Goshal and KK. I like Shreya Goshal's version. This is my attempt to sing this song. I hope you like my rendition.

Kehna hi Kya - Bombay

This is my best effort for this song. An extremely high range/note song. Chitra has sung it so effortlessly. The chorus part is also done by me. Thanks to Taranaa for the karaoke track.
